Biography :

Four Year Strong is an American pop punk/melodic hardcore band from Worcester, Massachusetts, formed in 2001. The group consists of vocalists and guitarists Dan O'Connor and Alan Day, bassist Joe Weiss, and drummer Jackson Massucco. They have released four studio albums; the latest, In Some Way, Shape or Form, was released on November 8, 2011.


History :

* Formation and It's Our Time (2001–2006)

This band was formed in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2001 by current members Dan O'Connor, Alan Day, Joe Weiss, and Jake Massucco as well as former member Josh Lyford. Dan O'Connor, Alan Day and Jake Massucco all attended Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester and met through mutual friends. They released their first studio album, It's Our Time, not long after their formation. The record's run was limited to 400 copies, with varying color CDs. The first 200 were light blue, with subsequent versions in yellow, red, and green. The band briefly released a demo in 2006, which contained early versions of their songs from Rise or Die Trying

* Rise or Die Trying, Explains It All (2006–2009)

The band's 2007 release Rise or Die Trying with I Surrender Records peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in its debut week. On the back of their increasing popularity, the band was signed to Decaydance Records in February 2008.

On July 21, 2009, Four Year Strong released an album of covers from the 1990s, titled Explains It All. The album features guest appearances from Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and JR and Buddy of Less Than Jake. The band explained their reasoning behind the album in a MySpace blog, saying "It's what we grew up listening to. Everyone has those songs that instantly transport you back to when you were younger. Whether we were in our bedrooms playing air guitar, or riding in the car to little league practice, or it was just that song that was all over the radio during that awesome summer at the Cape. These songs have impacted us in some way and we want to share that feeling with you."

* Enemy of the World (2010–2011)

The band's third full-length album, Enemy of the World, was released on March 9, 2010 on Universal Motown Records. The band released the album's first single, "It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now", on December 21, 2009. The name of the song is a reference to the final sentence of a review in Alternative Press in which the magazine praised Set Your Goals' new album while remarking on the future of Four Year Strong and how their record would compare. The vinyl record was made available to pre-order on March 2, 2010. The album sold 12,400 copies in its first week, debuting at number 47 on the Billboard 200. Four Year Strong has accompanied Set Your Goals in an Asian tour, but both canceled touring in Indonesia.

* Josh Lyford's departure, In Some Way, Shape or Form, and Future Plans (2011–present)

On April 3, 2011, it was announced that Josh Lyford would be leaving the band. Initially, it was implied that Lyford had chosen to leave in order to focus on his side project, Foxfires. However, it was later confirmed by both Lyford and Alan Day, that the band had elected to remove synthesizers from their sound leaving no room for Lyford to continue.

On April 13, 2011, in an interview with Alternative Press, the band revealed that they had been in the middle of recording their fourth studio album with producer David Bendeth in New Jersey's House of Loud. The band is set to return to the studio, without Josh Lyford, to finish the album in June, after they finish touring with Rise Against. Vocalist Alan Day has also revealed that the new songs the band had written were very diverse, and that the new material is different than anything the band has ever written. While touring with Rise Against, they have been playing a newly recorded, yet unreleased, song called "Falling on You".

On August 18, 2011, the band released "Stuck in the Middle", a new song from the upcoming album. The band announced that the new album will be titled In Some Way, Shape, or Form, and would be released on November 8, 2011. On September 8, 2011, the band released another song from the album, titled "Falling on You". The first official single from the album, "Just Drive", was released on September 27, 2011. During the Fall 2011 AP Tour, the band played another new unreleased song which will be released on the upcoming album. The band dedicated it to fans who have been there "from the very beginning, and will be there till the very end"; a video of the song has been leaked on YouTube. It is called "Fairweather Fan".

In an interview, it was revealed that Four Year Strong would be playing the Warped Tour 2012.

As of May 15, 2012, Four Year Strong departed ways with their label Universal Motown/Universal Republic. Regardless of the departure of the label, the band is still active as they played at the 2012 Warped Tour, and they performed with Blink-182 on their U.K. and Ireland tour.

As of 2013, rumors have speculated if Four Year Strong has broken up. Dan O'Connor had been married to his wife for almost two years, and Alan Day started his side project The Here And Now, an alternative/blues group who released an EP of music this year. When interviewed by PropertyOfZach, Day mentioned that the band isn't breaking up but rather taking time off. Going further, he said, "This is the first time in five years or more that we’ve taken more than three weeks off on tour...We’re definitely not breaking up. It seems like a lot of people are saying that, but I don’t know why they’re saying that. Just because we haven’t come through your city three times this year doesn’t mean we’re broken up."

A Day To Remember

Biography :

A Day to Remember is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida.

Founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denny and drummer Bobby Scruggs, the band has released four studio albums, nine singles and eight music videos. They are mainly known for their unusual amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk as a musical style.

History :

Early years and debut album (2003–2006)

After all playing in different groups in the Ocala music scene, singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Bobby Scruggs came together in 2003. Soon after, the band embarked on a "DIY" tour, playing well over 200 shows, making a name for themselves. They were signed to Indianola Records, from which they recorded their debut full-length debut album, titled And Their Name Was Treason in May 2005. The album sold 8,690 copies but the band felt that bigger and better things were to come. "A friend of mine said he had the AIM screenname of someone at Victory Records,” Woodard said. "I didn’t believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM’ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On the Last Day in a town outside of Chicago—and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they’d been fans all their lives."

Victory Records and For Those Who Have Heart (2006–2008)

Soon after signing with Victory Records, the band with their new drummer Alex Shellnutt went into Zing Studios to record their second full-length.

The album, titled For Those Who Have Heart was released in January 2007 on Victory Records and peaked at #17 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and #43 on the Top Independent Albums chart. On September 24, 2007, they put a cover of Kelly Clarkson's hit single, "Since U Been Gone" on their MySpace. This was later featured on the re-release of For Those Who Have Heart, released in February 2008.

A Day to Remember toured the United Kingdom for the first time ever in January 2008, and were later nominated for "Best International Newcomer" at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards, but lost to Black Tide. Afterwards, the band had a lengthy tour opening for Silverstein along with The Devil Wears Prada, and Protest the Hero (who dropped off the tour and were replaced by A Static Lullaby). They then played The Bamboozle Left on April 6 at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, California, one of the two days at the 2008 Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 3 and 4, as well as the Download Festival in June, and the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. Before playing the Download Festival, they toured the UK with The Devil Wears Prada and Alesana on the Road To Download Tour. In mid 2008, the band played all the U.S. dates of the "Easycore Tour" along with New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, Crime in Stereo and International Superheroes of Hardcore.

Homesick and Denney's departure (2008–2010)

A remixed and remastered version of their first album, And Their Name Was Treason, titled Old Record, was released on October 28, 2008 through Victory Records. In December 2008, A Day to Remember toured across Australia with Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence, The Acacia Strain and Confession. A Day to Remember played sold out*shows across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in support of Parkway Drive's "Sweatfest" 2008 Australian tour. Later that month, the band also finished recording their third studio album, Homesick. It was released on February 2, 2009 in Europe and February 3, 2009 in the United States and placed at #21 on Billboard's Top 200 Listings and at #1 on Top Independent Albums. It was additionally featured in Rolling Stone's "Top 40 Albums" that month, hitting number 21, and as of July 2010 has sold over 200,000 copies. Following two sold-out UK tours, A Day to Remember went on a European tour in February 2009, with the leg of the tour that took the band to Germany for the first time supported by For The Fallen Dreams and Kenai.

A Day to Remember toured the United States from March to May 2009 with The Devil Wears Prada, Sky Eats Airplane and Emarosa. Prior to the tour, Tom Denney broke his wrist; filling in for him was Kevin Skaff formerly of Four Letter Lie. They also toured the UK with For the Fallen Dreams and Azriel. They also toured as part of the Warped Tour 2009, played at the Download Festival 2009 and toured Asia, Australia and New Zealand in August and September. The band also contributed a track to Punk Goes Pop 2 record from Fearless Records, covering The Fray's "Over My Head (Cable Car)".

On June 2, 2009, the band announced that Tom Denney had left the band. The band stated that Denney left because he wants to focus on his marriage, a family, and his recording studio. Denney has been noted for recording such bands as The Starlight Getaway, Dang! We're on Fire, We Are Defiance as well as a number of solo acts. Regardless of his departure from the band, he will still remain a part of the writing process of new material. His replacement is Kevin Skaff, formerly of Four Letter Lie.

"The Downfall of Us All" was released as downloadable content for the Rock Band series of video games, whilst "NJ Legion Iced Tea" was released as a download for Guitar Hero World Tour on July 9, 2009.

A Day to Remember were set to play Reading & Leeds Festival in 2009 but pulled out due to Neil Westfall having to have surgery. They did their first headlining tour called The Pulling Your Pud Tour, along with Parkway Drive, In Fear and Faith, and I See Stars starting in September 2009. The band then supported Bring Me the Horizon, with guest August Burns Red, on their tour of the UK and Europe in October–November 2009.

On December 16, 2009, A Day to Remember released a holiday-oriented song as a single entitled "Right Where You Want Me to Be". A video was also made for the song and released through SantaMosh.com.

What Separates Me from You (2010–2011)

A Day to Remember performed at the 2010 Soundwave Australian music festival. They toured across the UK in March 2010 with support from Architects and Your Demise followed by "Toursick" in North America with August Burns Red, Silverstein, Enter Shikari, Veara, and Go Radio from March 31 to May 18, 2010. On July 14, 2010, MTV.com posted the music video for the band's latest single from Homesick - "Have Faith in Me", on their website.

According to Victory Records, it was claimed that the band will set to release their fourth studio album titled "What Separates Me From You" on October 26, 2010. The album was recorded in Ocala, Florida, with producer Chad Gilbert who has also produced Homesick, with the tracking being done on July 23, 2010.

On September 20, 2010, A Day to Remember announced in a live video through Victory Records' website the name of their new album being What Separates Me from You. They also then revealed the cover art for the album. The album was delayed a few weeks for release until November 16, 2010. On November 16, 2010, it was announced that A Day to Remember will play the 2011 edition of the Vans Warped Tour. Prior to Vans Warped Tour 2011, A Day To Remember headlined the "Game Changers Tour" (March - April 2011) with support from Bring Me The Horizon, Pierce The Veil, and We Came as Romans.

On January 6, 2011, the band showcased the official music video for the first single taken from the album, "All I Want" through an MTV premiere. The music video features several musicians from many different musical groups such as A Day to Remember's former lead guitarist Tom Denney, as well as Vic Fuentes, Pete Wentz, Dallas Taylor, Tim Lambesis and others. On January 11, 2011, the band made their national TV debut, while performing the songs "All I Want" and "Better Off This Way" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. On June 7, 2011, the band released the music video for the second single off the album - "All Signs Point to Lauderdale".

On December 15, 2011, it was announced that the band have plans of pressing charges against Victory due to breach of contract. Legal action was reportedly initiated on May 31 of that year, in which the band claims that Victory owes them over $75,000 in royalties. Victory Records has said, on their behalf, that the lawsuit is actually about the band's refusal to fulfill their 5 album contractual commitment to Victory and their newfound desire to move to a major label, and that Victory Records did not seek attention with this lawsuit trying to find middle ground with the band. The lawsuit came soon after A Day To Remember has started working with new management, and it is speculated that management has pressured the band to go to court.

Upcoming fifth studio album (2012–present)

After the band's recent tour in the US and UK throughout the months of November and December 2011, the band had written new material that is to be included on their fifth studio album. In preparation for the new album, the band would be heading into the studio later in the upcoming months, most likely in March 2012, as stated by frontman Jeremy.

The lead single from the band's new, untitled album will be "This Is Not What We're Supposed to Be" as confirmed by the band members in a live streaming webcam chat. It was also revealed to be a song that didn't make the cut for their previous album, What Separates Me from You, and thus would be included on the new record. No official release date has been announced yet.

Beginning in January 2012, the band went on tour supporting Rise Against, with the tour spreading over two legs and the band performing in Australia and New Zealand between tour two parts.

Jeremy also announced on December 30, 2011, that the band's previous lead guitarist Tom Denney would set to provide vocals on the new record. "As for if he would be screaming, chumming tunes, whistling or rapping on the track, we have not decided yet. It's totally a game changer for Tom to be in this set.", Jeremy reported to an exclusive Kerrang! podcast.

Asking Alexandria

Biography :

Asking Alexandria are a British metalcore band from York, North Yorkshire. Founded in 2008 when Ben Bruce (lead guitar) contacted his old companions upon returning to the UK after residing in Dubai. The current line-up of the group consists of Ben Bruce (lead guitar), Danny Worsnop (vocals), Cameron Liddell (rhythm guitar), Sam Bettley (bass guitar) and James Cassells (drums).


History :

Inception and Stand Up and Scream (2008–2009)

Asking Alexandria have their roots in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, wherein guitarist Ben Bruce started a band and released one full-length album (titled The Irony of Your Perfection) with the group under the name Asking Alexandria. The band shortly afterwards broke-up and Bruce made a statement at a later date that the band known as Asking Alexandria from Dubai only had the name for about a month before leading to their disbandment, hence the band never embarked on a tour.

In 2008, Bruce moved back to the UK, leaving behind his former bandmates. However, Bruce had no plans on putting his musical career on hold and not long after the move he started fresh with new members, though deciding to carry on the name Asking Alexandria. Bruce has stated that he was the one that created this title, that he still liked it and the meaning/reason behind the name still remained, and therefore decided to continue it in the new project. He also made an emphasised statement in the same blog post that the current Asking Alexandria is not the same band that wrote The Irony of Your Perfection, in style nor members, hence they are two different bands, despite their links. The same statement has been emphasised in interviews and is known to still be a confusion to many fans.

Asking Alexandria, since their formation in 2008, has had some member changes, including going from a six-piece to a five-piece, with the departure of synthesist Ryan Binns. The last known change was bassist Sam Bettley, who replaced Joe Lancaster in January 2009. Lancaster played his final show at Fibbers in their hometown York on 4 January. The band left for the United States the day after the show to promote their music through shows, as well as to prepare for the recording of their debut album.

After spending 2008 and the first months of 2009 touring, the band recorded their debut studio album between 19 May and 16 June 2009 at The Foundation Recording Studios in Connersville, Indiana, United States with producer Joey Sturgis. They announced their signing with Sumerian Records shortly after finishing the recording and released their debut album, Stand Up and Scream, on 15 September 2009 through their new label. The band spent 2009 focusing on gaining success in the United States, touring with well known bands such as Alesana, Enter Shikari, The Bled and Evergreen Terrace, amongst others.

Reckless & Relentless (2010–present)

On 22 December 2009, Asking Alexandria announced that they were to start the works on a second album in January. They informed that they were to be streaming parts of the writing process through a web cam feed via the service Stickam. It was also announced that they will be entering the studio on 1 September, again with producer Joey Sturgis. Then they later announced that they will be able to get into the studio 22 June 2010 on their official twitter. The band has later confirmed through an interview with Shred News that the album is scheduled for release in early 2011 and is planned to contain 12 new songs. In the same interview, the band informed that a title was not yet established. In a later interview they stated that the album will probably be able to pre order in November 2010, and available in early 2011. One song, "Breathless" has been played live already and can be found on YouTube. Danny has also released lyrics from the new album onto his Twitter account, although he did not state what songs they were from.

In March, Asking Alexandria are heading out on their first tour of the new year, yet again making their way through North America, this time with Attack Attack!, Breathe Carolina, label mates I See Stars, and the up-and-coming British metalcore act Bury Tomorrow. The tour carries through to April, ending ten days before heading off for their debut European tour with Dance Gavin Dance and In Fear and Faith, which includes an appearance at the annual Groezrock festival. They are however scheduled to discontinue the European tour two days before it originally ends to make an appearance at The Bamboozle festival in New Jersey.

Asking Alexandria announced their first ever headlining tour on 2 March 2010, taking place in North America through May to the start of June. We Came as Romans, From First to Last, Our Last Night and A Bullet for Pretty Boy were announced as supporting bands for the tour. Bruce has also confirmed through an interview with Inside Heavy that the band will be making an appearance at the Thrash and Burn summer festival tour as a main support act, though not revealing details on which other bands that will be participating. It was later revealed that Asking Alexandria would co-headline the Thrash and Burn Tour 2010 alongside Born of Osiris.

Asking Alexandria has sincd then embarked on The Thrash and Burn Tour performed a new song entitled "Breathless", which is featured on their then upcoming second studio album Reckless & Relentless. The band as well recorded a cover of "Right Now (Na Na Na)" by Akon which was released on Punk Goes Pop 3 in November 2010.

During a show in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on the Short But Sweet Tour that took place in early October, Asking Alexandria was asked about the release of their upcoming album and future music videos. Bruce responded with great detail about their plans. Reckless & Relentless will be available for pre-order in December and will be released in February. He also stated that in November 2010 they will be releasing a reissue of Stand Up and Scream, the reissue album is said to contain more of a "dubstep feel" to the content. Bruce also mentioned that it will contain a bonus DVD that will have a live music video of "If You Can't Ride Two Horses at Once... Then You Should Get Out of the Circus." They are also preparing a music video for "A Prophecy" that will be included on the bonus DVD if finished in time.

On 23 November 2010, Asking Alexandria added a new EP entitled Life Gone Wild for pre-order, set to be released on 21 December 2010. The EP contained the new song "Breathless", dubstep remixes of "A Single Moment of Sincerity" and "Not the American Average," two Skid Row covers of "18 and Life" and "Youth Gone Wild", and an unreleased demo version of "I Was Once, Possibly, Maybe, Perhaps a Cowboy King".

It has been announced that the reissue album of Stand Up and Scream, that was originally supposed to be released on 16 November then 21 December then 22 March has been pushed back to sometime in the summer of 2011 and will be titled Stepped Up and Scratched. It will be a completely remixed electro/dubstep version of their debut album including all the songs, new artwork, and new packaging. It has been announced at most UK tour shows in December that support for the UK April shows will come from Of Mice & Men and Chelsea Grin.

On 5 April 2011, Reckless & Relentless was released as planned. On 11 April 2011, the band made their national TV debut, while performing the songs "Someone, Somewhere", and "Closure" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

On 5 July 2011, the band released the music video for "Closure", the first single off Reckless & Relentless, directed by Thunder Down Country. On 15 July 2011, the band released a music video for the second single "To the Stage", directed by Frankie Nasso. On 4 September 2011, vocalist Danny Worsnop has announced in a video on his personal YouTube channel that he will be recording a solo album in the near future, with the album being more of a rock record, rather than Asking Alexandria's heavy metal style. He released a preview of a new solo song he recorded, entitled "Photograph." Asking Alexandria released the music video for Not The American Average on VIA Facebook on 10/17/11 which was a song on their debut album Stand Up And Scream. On 17 November 2011, the band was selected as sole direct support to Guns N' Roses at the Izod Center.

The band also announced on their Facebook on 22 December 2011 that they are shooting a prequel video to their song "To the Stage" the music video will be for their song "Reckless & Relentless". They also announced the sequel to the video will be for the song "Dear Insanity". Both are currently in post-production. Fans can go to the Sumerian Records Facebook wall and tell them which video they would prefer the band release first.
