Woe, Is Me

 Biography :

Woe, Is Me was an American metalcore band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2009, the group was signed to Rise Records and its subsidiary, Velocity Records. Their debut album, Number[s], was released on August 31, 2010 and charted at number 16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. Due to many lineup changes and conflicts, the only original member who remained in the band through its entire run was guitarist Kevin Hanson. The band broke up in September 2013.

History :

* Formation and Number[s] (2009–2011)

Woe, Is Me was founded during the fall of 2009 in Atlanta by former Of Machines drummer Austin Thornton, who started the band along with Kevin Hanson, Cory Ferris, and Ben Ferris, who were all formerly of a local Atlanta-based band named Cheyne Stokes. Tim Sherrill, who played lead guitar of another local group named Shooter McGavin, also joined in. These five members then recruited vocalists Michael Bohn and Tyler Carter, respectively for unclean and clean vocal positions after their departure from A Path Less Traveled, another local group. With this seven-member lineup, the band recorded a three-song demo with producer Cameron Mizell containing the songs "Hell, or High Water", "I" and "If Not, for Ourselves" which were released to their Myspace profile. The group later recorded and released a cover of the Kesha song "Tik Tok", also showcased online within a few months of being a band. Soon after these recordings were released, The Artery Foundation took notice of them. Rise Records, along with their imprint label, Velocity Records, signed Woe, Is Me before even playing their first show. They recorded their debut album, Number[s] during the same month that they were signed. It was subsequently released on August 31, 2010. It reached position No. 16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. The band's debut tour, the Pyknic Partery tour, was shared with Drop Dead, Gorgeous, From First to Last, Sleeping with Sirens, Abandon All Ships, For All Those Sleeping, and Attila.

Clean vocalist Tyler Carter's soul-influenced voice garnered comparisons to Jonny Craig, who provides guest appearances on the album. The group held an album release show in Georgia for Number[s] on September 2, 2010 with pop punk band Veara as a supporting act. Later in September, the band recorded a cover of the Katy Perry song "Hot n Cold" for the compilation album, Punk Goes Pop 3.

In an interview with radio station The Gunz Show, Carter stated that the band would be recording a music video for "[&] Delinquents" in September 2010. The group embarked on a Canadian tour supporting Abandon All Ships from October 1, 2010 to the 28th of that month. From November 4, 2010 to November 28, 2010, the band was included on a US tour entitled Average Guys with Exceptional Hair Tour in support of A Skylit Drive, along with For All Those Sleeping, Scarlett O'Hara, and Motionless in White. The music video for "[&] Delinquents" was released on the first of December of that year.

* "Fame > Demise" and line-up instability (2010–2011)

By the end of 2010, lead guitarist Tim Sherrill parted ways with Woe, Is Me. The band acquired Atlanta resident Jack Langdell to perform as a touring member and to write & record the single "Fame > Demise" alongside them. Geoffrey Higgins then took up the position in March 2011. Soon after, the group officially released "Fame > Demise" (pronounced fame over demise) through the iTunes Store on March 21, 2011. Carter explained that the song is and would only remain as a single, and would not be part of the band's second album. An acoustic version of the song was also released.

In June 2011, lead guitarist Geoffrey Higgins also departed from the band. The group began their performances on Warped Tour with only Hanson performing the rhythm guitar parts to where leads were backtracked during performances for the time being due to their lack of a lead guitarist. With the band yet again searching for a lead guitar player, the conclusion of their search was made weeks afterward where Abandon All Ships' drummer and guitarist, Dan and Andrew Paiano were kicked from the band. Almost immediately afterward, it was announced that Andrew would be joining Woe, Is Me to play lead guitar. In 2011, clean vocalist, Tyler Carter left the band. He cited an interest in following newer and different objectives than being in a band and went on to state that "[the rock 'n' roll lifestyle] and what it consists of just isn't for me anymore" as the reason for his departure.

* "Vengeance", Number[s] re-issue, and Genesi[s] (2011–2012)

On September 15, 2011, Woe, Is Me announced via-video update their new singer, Hance Alligood. Alligood was once a part of a local Atlanta band, "Oh, Manhattan". Along with this update, the group also played various clips from a new single entitled, "Vengeance", which was released on September 27. On March 7, 2012, Michael Bohn and both Ferris brothers left the band due to personal, professional, and musical differences.

"It came to a point where we could either continue on the path they saw fit, or we could create our own path and find happiness in our own ways," said Bohn and the Ferris brothers in a statement made shortly after their departure from the band. They have since reconciled with former bandmate, Tyler Carter, and created a new band named Issues with their friend, Case Snedecor.

On April 16, 2012, touring members Doriano Magliano (former vocalist for That's Outrageous!) and bassist Brian Medley officially announced they had joined Woe, Is Me. The band is set to enter the studio throughout summer 2012 with a release set sometime later this year. On April 19, 2012, Woe, Is Me were announced as part of the "Scream It Like You Mean It 2012" tour (July–August 2012) alongside headliner Attack Attack! with We Came as Romans, The Acacia Strain, Oceano, Like Moths to Flames, Close to Home, Impending Doom, Abandon All Ships, Secrets, Volumes, For All Those Sleeping, The Chariot, Glass Cloud, At The Skylines, Texas in July, In Fear and Faith, and Hands Like Houses.

* Departure of Austin Thornton, American Dream, and break up (2012-2013)

On March 8, 2013 the band released a statement that they had parted ways with drummer and founding member Austin Thornton, due to personal differences. As of Thornton's departure, Kevin Hanson was the only original member in the band. With the release of the statement, the band also stated that they are planning on releasing a new single in June. On April 25, Woe, Is Me stated on their Facebook page that they will be tracking their new music with Tom Denney. They plan to release it during the summer. A recent interview with the band and lead singer Hance in particular gave insight towards the feel of the new album that they are working on. "The singing/screaming ratio is more balanced, whereas Genesis had a lot more screaming and heavy parts. Doriano and I will share vocal responsibilities and have equal singing/screaming parts. Genesis had lots of breakdowns/chug parts, which don’t get me wrong, were cool. But, the heavy parts on this new stuff will be more riffy and more fun to move to. The choruses will still have the same pop feel to them as the ones from Genesi".

On June 15, 2013, during the first show of Warped Tour, Woe, Is Me announced they would be releasing a new EP later in the year. They later released a new song called "Stand Up," which was announced as the first single from the EP, titled American Dream. It is the first record to not have the Woe, Is Me symbol. It was announced sometime around Warped tour started that David Angle will be the band's new drummer. David Angle played drums for a band called At the Skylines. In a recent Warped Tour update video on the bands youtube page, they showed vocalist Danny Leal (Upon a Burning Body) tracking vocals for the title track.

On August 5, Woe, Is Me's official Twitter page announced that they will be in the studio to record their third album sometime in October.

On August 17, the band released the second song, "American Dream".

On September 18, Alternative Press wrote an exclusive article that the band has broken up. They included a personal post from vocalist Hance Alligood stating that he had "lost passion" for the genre and had decided to leave the band on good terms. As a result, the remaining members decided to disband instead of going through another line-up change.

Alligood also stated in the Alternative Press interview that he will be working on a solo album soon. Brian Medley posted a new song on soundcloud and has a band called Heartfelt in the works. Andrew Paiano has started a dance project titled Modiano which can be found on twitter.

Me vs Hero

Biography :

Me Vs Hero are a British pop punk band from Blackpool, which has released two extended plays and one studio album in their career. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Sam Thompson, bassist Michael Booth, guitarists Bobby Pook and Grant Berry and drummer Simon Smith. The band is known for their inclusion of hardcore punk and heavy metal influence on their melodic pop punk style; this has been typically called easycore and popcore. Releasing both the Me Vs Hero EP and This One's for Our Friend in January and December 2009, respectively. Me Vs Hero released their debut album Days That Shape Our Lives in October 2010 and are planning to release a second album.

History :

Formation, early years and Days That Shape Our Lives (2007–2011)

The band formed in 2007 with Alex McCulloch, Sam Thompson, Oliver Bradley and Michael Booth. Sam and Mike, whom were best friends since secondary school, used to practice in Sam's garage. The band started when vocalist Sam Thompson wrote two demo songs: hand me the keys to massey and spiceweasel bam and then showed them to the other three. The band's name is when Alex McCulloch was listening to Walls Of Jericho and misinterpreted the lyrics as being beast versus hero. The band played their first gig in Blackpool at a small venue called Riffs.

In August 2008 the band declared that founding guitarist Alex McCulloch died. The band has stated that their continuation was "to pay tribute to Alex".

In 2009 they released two Extended plays: Me Vs Hero EP in January and This One's for Our Friend In December. The band toured with several bands that year, completing a co-headline tour with Paige in March, festival appearances at Slam Dunk and Sonisphere.

The band's debut album Days That Shape Our Lives was released 18 October 2010. The album used re-recorded songs from their first two extended plays, this was because the band decided on—in their opinion—the best songs on the two EPs and wanted to show them to a larger audience. Following up to the release of the album three music videos were generated from the album, the title track 'The Days That Shape Our Lives’, ‘Can You Count, Suckers?’ And later in 2012 'My Warren Sense Is Tingling'. On 6 October 2010 the band made the album free to stream on the internet. In November the band complete their first tour in support of the album by supporting Deaf Havana across Britain. On 6 December Me Vs Hero signed to Hang Tight Records to release the album on 12″ vinyl. Thee vinyl press was limited to 500 copies; 100 on blue/green splatter and 400 on green.

In early 2011 Oliver Bradley was replaced by Stephen Jones on the drums. Bradley's reasons were never specified, only that he no longer wanted to be a part of the band any more. This was a coincidence as Jones' previous band had just broken up and he was looking to join another band. Across 2011 the band supported Skindred across the United Kingdom. As well as made several festival appearances including: Relentless Boardmasters, Slam Dunk, Sonisphere Festival and Hevy Music Festival. At their Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth they confirmed themselves for the festival's secret performance at "the Roadhouse" in Manchester on 14 July, the show was designed to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

In early 2012 Stephen Jones left the band and they invited Simon Smith to join as their new drummer. However Smith initially rejected the offer as he was a session drummer for a X-factor finalist. Three days later, Smith joined the band.

* Second studio album (2012–present)

The band spent a majority of 2012 writing and recording their second studio album, the band posted a teaser of their work on the album to the internet in its early stages in March. In June Me Vs Hero, With The Punches, and Heroes For Hire completed their 5 date "Beyond the Blue" tour of Japan. Then appeared with Kids Can't Fly at the Middlesbrough based Make A Scene Festival and at the UK Warped Tour at the Alexandra Palace in London, and co-headline tour of the United Kingdom alongside With The Punches in December 2012.

The album was recorded in Steel City Studios in Sheffield and is being produced by Phill Gornell. Gronell's work with the band had led to him almost being like an additional member or Me vs Hero, giving ideas for the musical direction of the band and helping with song-writing. On 19 November 2012 the band released a short video through Rock Sound Magazine introducing the album and showing footage of its recording, and later, in 26 November 2012 the band debuted a live-studio recording of a new song Heisenberg through Drop Dead Clothing. The band has also confirmed that a mystery "tattooed gentleman" guest vocalist appears on the album.

The band toured the East Coast of the United States in February 2013. During May 2013 the band played at all 3 dates of the 2013 Slam Dunk Festival as well supporting Polar Bear Club on their U.K tour

* Musical style and influences

Me vs Hero is seen by critics as being a pop punk band inspired by both hardcore punk and heavy metal bands. This has led to them being also considered as melodic hardcore and easycore. Easycore and popcore have both been used interchangeably used to describe their style. Thompson has gone on record saying he has never had an issue with the tag, saying: "So many bands go under the umbrella of pop-punk that you call someone pop-core or easy-core you know it’s something like pop-punk with beatdowns."

The band's debut album, Days That Shape Our Lives showcases the bands typically positive lyrics. The upbeat energy of the album is a result of the excitement they felt as they formed the band. Songs like the single Can you Count, Suckers? is described as "unstoppable blend of pop-punk and hardcore" and as "pure modern pop-punk". The positivity of the album is halted by the acoustic ballad ‘A Loss In the Ranks’, which was written specifically about the death of founding member Alex McCulloch.

With the writing of the second album the band members have stated that it displays a more contrasting, broader range of styles, offering a more dynamic sound and that the "heavier bits are going to be heavier, and I think the poppier bits are going to be more poppy maybe". They have also considered the album as more of a group effort, so more diverse influences will come into their style. lyrically the albums is said by the band as sounding more "honest" and "more relatable" than its predecessor.

When singer Sam Thompson was asked to name three albums that made him want to be in a band he spoke about Dookie, blink-182 and Take This to Your Grave. The band has been compared to blink-182 and Fall Out Boy, Four Year Strong, New Found Glory, Set Your Goals and A Day to Remember.

The Wonder Years

Biography :

The Wonder Years is an American pop punk band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania that formed in June 2005. Since their conception, they have released four full-length albums, two EPs, and several splits/compilations. The group is currently signed to Hopeless Records. Their name originates from a paper that Soupy read written by his after-school education teacher titled "The Wonder Years".

History :

* Formation, the early years (2005–2006)

The Wonder Years were born in 2005 out of the remnants of an old Lansdale, PA band called The Premier. The Premier consisted of Dan "Soupy" Campbell, Matt Brasch, Nick Steinborn, Dave and CJ Morgan. Dave and CJ were the only members of The Premier that didn't join The Wonder Years.

The Wonder Years' first two years of existence amounted to two relatively unknown split EPs with Lansdale bands that are no longer together. Their first split with Emergency and I was released in 2005 and featured two songs that would later be included and re-recorded on their first full-length album Get Stoked on It!. ("I Fell in Love with a Ninja Master" and "Buzz Aldrin: The Poster Boy for Second Place"). The other song on the split was "Cowboy Killers".

The Wonder Years quickly followed up their 2005 release by putting out another split, this time with a band called Bangarang! in a similar fashion to their split with Emergency and I, The Wonder Years' split with Bangarang! featured two songs that would be re-recorded and included on Get Stoked on It!. ("My Geraldine Lies Over the Delaware" and "Let's Moshercise!"). The other two songs were "I Ain't Sayin' He a Golddigga (Sike!)" and "Through Two Hearts".

* Get Stoked on It! and Won't Be Pathetic Forever EP (2007–2009)

The Wonder Years Performing live in 2009

The Wonder Years signed to No Sleep Records in 2007. After completing their first tour of the United Kingdom with Never So True, The Wonder Years recorded their first full-length studio album, Get Stoked on It!. Get Stoked on It! was released on October 30, 2007 and caused the band's then-small fan base to grow significantly. In the spring of 2008, The Wonder Years released an EP titled, Won't Be Pathetic Forever. In 2009, The Wonder Years' released a split EP titled Distances with UK pop punk band All or Nothing. The split consisted of only two songs by The Wonder Years, and it was after this release that keyboardist/vocalist Mikey Kelly left the band to pursue other goals.

* The Upsides (2010–2011)

The Wonder Years' second full-length album, The Upsides was released on January 26, 2010. The Upsides sold 1852 units in its first week, landing it on multiple Billboard charts: No. 5 on Alternative Artist, No. 9 on Top New Artist, No. 26 on Top Internet Album, and No. 43 on Indie Label Album.

Also with the release of The Upsides was a 7" limited to only 500 copies and available with pre-order of The Upsides CD. This vinyl features a non-album song entitled "Leavenhouse. 11:30.", which is about the early years of music for The Wonder Years and their local scene in Lansdale, PA. The title "Leavenhouse" refers to a house in which members of the Lansdale band Leavenworth lived and hung out at day or night.

A few months after the release of The Upsides, on May 27, The Wonder Years announced that they had signed to Hopeless Records. Their first release after their signing was a split 7" with Fallen from the Sky, on which they covered "Zip Lock" by Lit.

The Wonder Years released a deluxe edition of The Upsides on September 21, 2010. It included 4 new songs titled, "I Was Scared and I'm Sorry", "We Won't Bury You", "Dynamite Shovel (Campfire Version)", and "Logan Circle: A New Hope". "We Won't Bury You" was written about best friend Mike Pelone who was also in the band Emergency and I. Mike Pelone died in August 2010.

In October 2010, The Wonder Years released a music video for the song "Melrose Diner" set to the theme of BAW Wrestling and starring actor Charlie Saxton as the wrestler "Lone Wolf".

* Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing (2011–2013)

In the fall of 2010, The Wonder Years confirmed that they were writing the follow up to The Upsides. On June 14, 2011 The Wonder Years released Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing on Hopeless Records. "Suburbia" is inspired by the poem America by Allen Ginsberg as well as the band's life following the release of The Upsides. The first single off the album titled "Local Man Ruins Everything" was released on April 12, 2011 on iTunes. The second single, "Don't Let Me Cave In", was released on iTunes and Amazon on May 3, 2011, along with a music video. The third single, "Coffee Eyes" was made available for streaming on the Alternative Press website on June 1, 2011. The record charted at number 73 on the Billboard Top 200 the week of its release, selling 8,100 copies. On August 11, 2011 they released a music video for "Local Man Ruins Everything". The video consists of Hank the Pigeon "adventuring on his own" around Lansdale and Philadelphia.

The band released a split 6-inch with Stay Ahead of the Weather entitled Punk Is Dead. Get a Job. on April 17, 2012 and re-released their debut full-length, Get Stoked on It!, on May 15, 2012. The album will only be available digitally through the record label's website. Campbell, who has been outspoken about his disappointment in the band's first album, said, "In our opinion, this record is a trainwreck. Chris paid to get it remastered forever ago and we kept trying to put off its inevitable re-release. He and I agreed that since it's already available digitally, that no real harm can come of swapping out the old mixes with the better sounding ones as long as it never gets pressed in a physical form again. That's the long and short of it. If you like the record, enjoy the new mixes. If you hate the record, I'm on your side. We won't be playing any of these songs live in support of this. We don't even consider it a re-release. Just a swap out for a better mix."

On December 3, the band announced on their official twitter and website that they will be releasing a compilation of all of their former EPs and splits titled "Sleeping on Trash", which was released on February 12. They also announced that they were done writing their new album and would be entering the studio in January.

* The Greatest Generation (2013–present)

Prior to the release of The Greatest Generation the band played 4 shows in the span of 24 hours to promote the album. The Wonder Years released their fourth LP, The Greatest Generation, on May 14, via Hopeless Records. In May 2013, The Wonder Years played all 6 dates of Slam Dunk festival in the UK and Ireland. Before embarking on the Vans Warped Tour 2013, the band played some shows with Silverstein in Canada.

First week sales of The Greatest Generation more than doubled the sales of Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing, with a total of 19,673 copies sold. These sales placed the album at #20 on Billboard's Top 200 chart.

Set Your Goals

Set Your Goals is a pop punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area, formed in 2004. Their musical style typically employs a combination of pop punk and melodic hardcore. Their band name is derived from the CIV album of the same name.

The band consists of vocalists Jordan Brown and Matt Wilson, guitarists Audelio Flores Jr and Daniel Coddaire and bassist Joe Saucedo.

History :

* Formation and first releases (2004–2008)

Forming in 2004, Set Your Goals released their first self-titled EP through Straight on Records in May 2004. The band embarked on some of their first tours with The Warriors and Make Move, as the word circulated about the EP they were approached by a number of labels. After "touring off of that alone for almost 2 years", they signed with Eulogy Recordings and re-released the EP under the name Reset in April 2006. Audelio Flores joined the band on April 2006, after playing in a band called Amity from Los Angeles. Their second release on Eulogy was their debut studio album, entitled Mutiny!, which was released in July 2006. During winter of 2007 Dave Yoha amicably left the band due to tour exhaust. Daniel Coddaire returned for touring before he rejoined the band officially in 2008; Coddaire was Set Your Goals' original lead guitarist.

Set Your Goals reached a buy-out agreement with Eulogy Recordings in August 2008 at an estimated $125,000. It has also been reported that the band got their manager to buy out their contract for $150,000. Vocalist Matt Wilson later hinted that their next release may be self-released, saying, "The truth is we have many options for our next record and self-releasing is one of the best and a very likely option." In March 2009, it was announced that Epitaph Records had signed the band.

They supported New Found Glory on the UK Easy Core tour later in the year. They were the main support to New Found Glory on the Not Without a Fight tour in early 2009.

On May 1, 2009, the band performed as Set Your Grohls, performing covers of Nirvana and Foo Fighters songs. Their second record, This Will Be the Death of Us, was released through Epitaph Records on 21 July 2009 and was produced by Mike Green (Paramore, The Matches).

In support of the upcoming album, they toured Australia with All Time Low and Stealing O'Neal, and toured the United States throughout July and August with Four Year Strong, Polar Bear Club, The Swellers and Fireworks. The band played new songs from This Will Be the Death of Us live.

On the 28th of July Set Your Goals announced that their album This Will Be the Death of Us had made the Billboard (magazine) top 200 by placing at No. 65. The song Gaia Bleeds is featured on Madden NFL 10.

The band played the entire Warped Tour 2010 on the Altec Lansing stage along with Parkway Drive, Four Year Strong, Emmure, Whitechapel, Suicide Silence and others.

On a Q&A session on the band's Formspring account on January 7, 2011, they announced that the new album will be called Burning at Both Ends, and will be released on June 27, 2011.

In February–March 2011, the band supported Parkway Drive on their US headlining tour. Other opening acts were The Ghost Inside and The Warriors. Following that tour, in April 2011, the band supported another major metalcore band - August Burns Red on their own US headlining tour, with supporting acts Texas in July and Born of Osiris. In conjunction with the band's new release Burning at Both Ends, the band toured as part of the Vans Warped Tour, in June–August 2011.

On August 15, 2011, it was announced that the band was added as the main supporting act of the Pop Punk's Not Dead Tour, which headlined by New Found Glory in October–November 2011. Other opening acts include The Wonder Years, Man Overboard and This Time Next Year.

On October 24, 2012, Mike(y) Ambrose announced on Facebook that he will be leaving the band after playing a final two shows in California. The second show was dismissed due to a band injury.

* Mike Ambrose (2013)

Since having announced his departure from Set Your Goals, drummer Mike Ambrose has joined outfit Misser and can be heard drumming on their latest EP, Distancing, on Rise Records.

* 2013

Since the end of '12, the band has shown no recent activity.

In March of 2013, rhythm guitarist Audelio Flores, Jr. suggested via Instagram and Facebook that Set Your Goals was no longer together, though he later retracted his posts. He has since begun performing with What's Eating Gilbert (featuring Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory), and can be seen on all of their upcoming nationwide tour dates.

On May 3rd bassist Joe Saucedo announced via his Twitter that he has started a new band and has new music on the way. Four Year Strong

Biography :

Four Year Strong is an American pop punk/melodic hardcore band from Worcester, Massachusetts, formed in 2001. The group consists of vocalists and guitarists Dan O'Connor and Alan Day, bassist Joe Weiss, and drummer Jackson Massucco. They have released four studio albums; the latest, In Some Way, Shape or Form, was released on November 8, 2011.

History :

* Formation and It's Our Time (2001–2006)

This band was formed in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2001 by current members Dan O'Connor, Alan Day, Joe Weiss, and Jake Massucco as well as former member Josh Lyford. Dan O'Connor, Alan Day and Jake Massucco all attended Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester and met through mutual friends. They released their first studio album, It's Our Time, not long after their formation. The record's run was limited to 400 copies, with varying color CDs. The first 200 were light blue, with subsequent versions in yellow, red, and green. The band briefly released a demo in 2006, which contained early versions of their songs from Rise or Die Trying

* Rise or Die Trying, Explains It All (2006–2009)

The band's 2007 release Rise or Die Trying with I Surrender Records peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in its debut week. On the back of their increasing popularity, the band was signed to Decaydance Records in February 2008.

On July 21, 2009, Four Year Strong released an album of covers from the 1990s, titled Explains It All. The album features guest appearances from Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and JR and Buddy of Less Than Jake. The band explained their reasoning behind the album in a MySpace blog, saying "It's what we grew up listening to. Everyone has those songs that instantly transport you back to when you were younger. Whether we were in our bedrooms playing air guitar, or riding in the car to little league practice, or it was just that song that was all over the radio during that awesome summer at the Cape. These songs have impacted us in some way and we want to share that feeling with you."

* Enemy of the World (2010–2011)

The band's third full-length album, Enemy of the World, was released on March 9, 2010 on Universal Motown Records. The band released the album's first single, "It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now", on December 21, 2009. The name of the song is a reference to the final sentence of a review in Alternative Press in which the magazine praised Set Your Goals' new album while remarking on the future of Four Year Strong and how their record would compare. The vinyl record was made available to pre-order on March 2, 2010. The album sold 12,400 copies in its first week, debuting at number 47 on the Billboard 200. Four Year Strong has accompanied Set Your Goals in an Asian tour, but both canceled touring in Indonesia.

* Josh Lyford's departure, In Some Way, Shape or Form, and Future Plans (2011–present)

On April 3, 2011, it was announced that Josh Lyford would be leaving the band. Initially, it was implied that Lyford had chosen to leave in order to focus on his side project, Foxfires. However, it was later confirmed by both Lyford and Alan Day, that the band had elected to remove synthesizers from their sound leaving no room for Lyford to continue.

On April 13, 2011, in an interview with Alternative Press, the band revealed that they had been in the middle of recording their fourth studio album with producer David Bendeth in New Jersey's House of Loud. The band is set to return to the studio, without Josh Lyford, to finish the album in June, after they finish touring with Rise Against. Vocalist Alan Day has also revealed that the new songs the band had written were very diverse, and that the new material is different than anything the band has ever written. While touring with Rise Against, they have been playing a newly recorded, yet unreleased, song called "Falling on You".

On August 18, 2011, the band released "Stuck in the Middle", a new song from the upcoming album. The band announced that the new album will be titled In Some Way, Shape, or Form, and would be released on November 8, 2011. On September 8, 2011, the band released another song from the album, titled "Falling on You". The first official single from the album, "Just Drive", was released on September 27, 2011. During the Fall 2011 AP Tour, the band played another new unreleased song which will be released on the upcoming album. The band dedicated it to fans who have been there "from the very beginning, and will be there till the very end"; a video of the song has been leaked on YouTube. It is called "Fairweather Fan".

In an interview, it was revealed that Four Year Strong would be playing the Warped Tour 2012.

As of May 15, 2012, Four Year Strong departed ways with their label Universal Motown/Universal Republic. Regardless of the departure of the label, the band is still active as they played at the 2012 Warped Tour, and they performed with Blink-182 on their U.K. and Ireland tour.

As of 2013, rumors have speculated if Four Year Strong has broken up. Dan O'Connor had been married to his wife for almost two years, and Alan Day started his side project The Here And Now, an alternative/blues group who released an EP of music this year. When interviewed by PropertyOfZach, Day mentioned that the band isn't breaking up but rather taking time off. Going further, he said, "This is the first time in five years or more that we’ve taken more than three weeks off on tour...We’re definitely not breaking up. It seems like a lot of people are saying that, but I don’t know why they’re saying that. Just because we haven’t come through your city three times this year doesn’t mean we’re broken up."
