Earth Crisis

Biography :

One of the most anticipated and talked about reunions of 2008 was without a doubt the reformation of EARTH CRISIS. The pioneers of the hardcore, straight edge movement have now officially made the decision to carry on with the band fulltime and are proud to announce a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group have crafted their most angst ridden and unrelenting offering of their already stellar career and this effort is going to serve as a much needed wake up call to the masses.

The Syracuse NY-based quintet EARTH CRISIS’ chugging riffs and barked declarations served as the mouthpiece of America's vegan, straight-edge movement throughout the '90s, detailing the ideas of animal and human liberation, drug-free living, and personal empowerment through hardcore song. Their vicious debut EP, Firestorm, was a landmark release for the hardcore scene that combined staccato, solo-free metal with barking, political, and militant vocals. The lyrics centered around the dangers of drug abuse and bringing "violence against violence" to drug dealers and those who would abuse animals: "a firestorm to purify."

EARTH CRISIS’ message of human, animal and environmental liberation has caused shockwaves that resonated beyond the music industry. They have received national media coverage on CNN (Earth Matters), TBS, FOX (America's Most Wanted), CBS (48 Hours), MTV (Music News) and ABC (World News Tonight). Charismatic vocalist Karl Buechner has spoken in front of members of Congress about teens and substance abuse. EARTH CRISIS epitomizes commitment, fortitude, and resilience and is an established and embraced trademark in the international metal, hardcore and punk communities.

EARTH CRISIS has continued along this path of breaking new ground, constantly working and reaching more people spreading their message to the masses. In 1996, the band released their second full-length album, Gomorrah's Season Ends, a polished and decidedly more metallic affair that produced even more anthems that became sing along worthy staples of their live performances. This exposed the band to a whole new mainstream audience. Their relentless touring has put them in front of countless national and international audiences - from the U.S. to Canada, to Europe, Japan and South America. In October 1999, they played Bogota, Columbia's Rock al Parque Festival for over 120,000 people. They have toured with bands ranging from Sepultura, Misfits, and Downset, to Snapcase, Madball and Skarhead. In 1996, they even appeared on the first ever Ozzfest along with the accompanying live CD and video that resulted from the event.

Buechner’s astounding range and vocal depth has positioned him as one of the strongest voices in rock. The musical backbone of the band has never been stronger from both songwriting and musicianship perspectives. Guitarists Scott Crouse and Erick Edwards’ sometimes pulverizing and jagged, sometimes soothing sonic barrages round out the musical savagery. Bassist Ian Edwards and drummer Dennis Merrick provide the most calculated, spontaneous and convincing percussion backdrop in hard music today. Physically the band is in its best condition ever and is determined to take over every stage, audience, and venue that they invade. In 2009, EARTH CRISIS prepares to unleash a firestorm of epic proportions proving that their message is more viable than ever. Read More...!!

Begundal Lowokwaru

Biography :

Waku demi waktu mulai bergulir, lagu-lagu seperti Road To The Bottle (Equality), Oi! Seplok, ataupun Saudara Sebotol mulai akrab dikumandangkan.
Masa kurang bergeliatnya Begundal Lowokwaru pun berlangsung cukup lama. Dalam kurun waktu tersebut Begundal Lowokwaru hanya menghasilkan 1 lagu untuk kompilasi Patriot 666 Records Bali berjudul And The Bottle For All, dan juga rilis dari Realino Records Oi! Penalti.

Condemned

Biography :

It began in Imperial Beach, CA in April 2004. Forrest Stedt (drums) and Steve Crow (guitar) wanted to get back into music making. At first, Forrest and Steve played in a garage just throwing around ideas and writing songs. Shortly after, one of their oldest friends Paul Hickey (bass) was added. For a while it was just writing music and thinking up a band name. It was decided on the name CONDEMNED. The name fit well with their ideas. After a little over a year of practicing in Forrest's garage it was decided best to move on to another place to rehearse due to time constraints affecting creativity. They found a rehearsal building shortly after and moved in. CONDEMNED started working even harder and making the band into something more serious thanks to new found freedom and began writing for a future album. In July 2005, Condemned added second guitarist Chris Ben-Judah (guitar). After a considerable amount of time searching for a vocalist, Forrest and Steve decided to write lyrics and share vocal duties on the demo and use it as an ad for a vocalist with the same vision. However, in late September 2005 they received a response from Angel Ochoa (vocals) and decided to try him out.

After a single demonstration of Angel's disgusting ability he was added as the final piece of Condemned. With Angel, CONDEMNED's sound was finally complete and in November 2005, Condemned recorded their "Mass Burial" demo. The demo spread out fast and created a good name for them in the brutal death metal scene. With that, a new brutal death metal band is spawned and ready to destroy. Condemned has since parted with bassist Paul Hickey and guitarist Chris Ben-Judah, and have recruited bassist Mario Pena and guitarist Jerry Williams at the time. CONDEMNED was soon in search of a label to help put out their debut album and was consequentially contacted by Zdenek of Lacerated Enemy Records. After a considerable amount of discussion they signed with LE Records, together they created and released their first full-length album entitled "Desecrate the Vile". in 2007 Condemned have built a strong fan base internationally and have toured through Japan, Europe, and through the U.S. in support of the album. Condemned have since parted ways with 2nd guitarist Jerry Williams and continued to work as a 4 piece. In Fall of 2008, Condemned inked a deal with Erik and Unique Leader Records, and to prepare for the new release of the 2nd coming album entitled "Realms of the Ungodly". In November of 2008, Condemned have ended their long awaited search of filling in the slot for a new 2nd guitarist. They added "Paul Avila" to the Condemned crew as a permanent member, and to be a full part of all that is contained for the future of the band. Condemned has continued to maintain touring and writing for the next release which is expected to be released in mid or late 2010. Read More...!!

50 Lions

Biography :

50 Lions are an Australian band from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The band is named after a poker machine called '50 Lions'.

History  :

In 2006, they released their self-titled 7", which sold out within 3 months of its release. Later that year, they released their debut album, Nowhere To Run, through Washed Up Records.[1]  They then released Time Is The Enemy through Resist Records.[2]

In 2006 they did a tour with Australian band I Killed The Prom Queen.[3] At the beginning of 2008, the band played alongside Parkway Drive in 14 out of 15 dates during the Surf Rat Tour.[4] They have since released a split CD with American band Down To Nothing.

After their European tour, they will be doing a tour of Australia with Blacklisted, and then will be a part of the annual Hardcore festival in Sydney.[5][6]

50 Lions vocalist Oscar McCall is the brother of Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall.[7]

In December 2010, they released a new song on a split 7" with Australian bands Parkway Drive, No Apologies and Blkout entitled, This is Australia. The 7" was released by good friend and No Apologies vocalist Pete 'Bloke' Abordi on Abordi's very own Bloke Records. The goal was to release one song each by four prominent Australian hardcore bands with each song being under a minute in length.

The band continues to perform at metal festivals across Europe, despite their waning popularity and tenuous link to music royalty through familial relations with Parkway Drive.

Tours :

Throughout their short career they have toured with bands such as Rise Against, Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, Evergreen Terrace and Comeback Kid.[8]

In November 2009, 50 Lions teamed up with Baltimore's Trapped Under Ice for a national tour of Australia. The tour will cover Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Byron, Sydney and Perth. 25 ta Life

Biography :

25 ta Life is an American  band from New York City, originally formed in Queens, N.Y.  in mid-1991.

History :

The band was started by Frank Smarra (Bass) and Harry Minas (Drums) in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., they were soon joined by Fred Mesk (Guitar) and together wrote most of the material that would be on their early releases.

In early 1992 they recruited former Agnostic Front roadie Rick Healy (AKA Rick ta Life) who added the lyrics to all the songs. They adopted the name after it was suggested by Freddie Madball. Madball also helped the band by giving them guest appearances at the end of their sets. 25 ta Life played their first full show at Studio 1 in New Jersey on May 10, 1993 supporting Obituary. After a few failed attempts to add a second Guitar player, Beto (formally of D'mize & Madball) joined the band in late 1993. In January 1994 Bassist and co-founding member Frank Smarra left the band due to family commitments and was replaced by Warren Lee. The Band continued to play massive amounts of shows in the tri-state area and all along the East Coast. In early 1996 25 ta Life traveled to Europe for the first time playing in Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Poland. By late 1997 co-founding member Harry Minas left the band and was replaced by Seth Meyer from One4One.

25 ta Life opened for Agnostic Front's reunion show at the Wetland in December 1996 and then played all of AF's East Coast Dates along with Madball, Hatebreed and H2O in early 1997. They went to Japan in April 1997. Warren and Beto left in May 1997 after the West Coast Tour. Mike from One4One joined on Bass in June 1997 and they went to Europe in July 1997. In October-November 1997, Biohazard took 25 ta Life on a short 8 show tour of the East Coast from Washington DC to Boston. Seth left the band in February 1998 and was replaced by Rob Pallotta. Grave Dancers

Biography :

It all started from Martyr and Jabarantas who has been trying to set up a new jamming project alongside with Murph, and K.C, jamming up to play old tunes from Early 80's thrash / speed metal.
Not long after we’re satisfied with the first rehearsal, we're all agreed to make routine rehearsal for this band, name was our main priority on that time, cause we wanna something different to spell it out loudly, several of crappy & ass licking names came out, in the end ,GRAVE DANCERS become our last option.
After a few months of jamming together, the needs of a second guitar player was highly urgent, thus we asked Demon to join us in this club. We're pretty much influenced by oldschool crossover but most of them are overpowering metal, think of 1 part metallic grind added with crunchy hardcore riffs, raw bass sound, fast paced intense drumming, and raw yelling vocals.
Lyrically we are inspired by huge collection of thoughts, human interest stories and social theme. The line has drawn, we're ready to rock, for sure!

Fist of Therapy

Biography :

Fist Of Therapy ( F.O.T ) was established in the middle of 1997. Their first line-up was M’beng (throat) and Fery (guitar). At that time, F.O.T started with something minimalistic, until in the end of 1997, they were advancing their band with the new members; Iman (drum) and Ilham (bass) which once were only filled with additional / temporary players. F.O.T was highly influenced by some "Hero Hardcore Bands" like STRIFE and SNAPCASE by whom they described their music as Modern Hardcore. Unfortunately in the middle of 1999 and at the end of 2000, two of the band members (Iman and Ilham) couldn't follow the band's struggle due to their overwhelming activities outside the band and so they proposed their resignation. F.O.T still could maintain their existence with the help of some good musician buddies who were willing to professionally fill the lacuna, yet then some of them finally joined the band as members.

From all additional / temporary players joined, F.O.T, got some good musicians like Al (PURGATORY), Reza (QISHASH, Ad.REACTION), Alex (ex:REVITOL), Reza Patkay (END OF AGE, PAPER GANGSTER), Hell-me (PAIN KILLER), Aryomc (FLAMING ICARUS, DAGGER STAB) and Andri (THEATHAN). F.O.T got through some inspirational experiences in playing music and so they got more mature view in creating the music and the lyrics as well. The lyrics themselves are more in to love which is described with dark and hazing atmosphere, similar as most of other metal core bands appear like.

Their recent line-up they're having; Mbeng in Throat, Ferry in Guitar, Die in Guitar [ex. Purgatory's guitarist], Antou in Bass [Finish Irene] and Boim in drums has strengthen their music quality process that is still running until now.

F.O.T has joined some of compilation albums such as “REVOLUTION OF SOUNDS” released by Sony BMG (2005) and “Asian-European Indie Today” compilation By Sampah Project Records (2007). As they consider that the latest compilation is one of their highest achievements, coz their single titled “Falling In Lost” was released in all countries included in this compilation; 4 countries in Eastern Europe and 4 others in Asia region.

Their music influence comes from some good hardcore / metal core bands such as RED ROSES FOR A BLUE LADY, EVERYTIME I DIE, NORMA JEAN, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, EIGHTEEN VISIONS, GLASSJAW, SNAPCASE, STRIFE, CONVERGE, PANTERA and HIM.

After being delayed for more than 5 years, they finally released their newest album titled "Romantic Love In Melancholy". It includes 10 songs and "Sleep Forever" as their single. They are working together with Ripple Magazine in distributing the album and some of media like Dapurletter.com also helps in promoting, and last but not least Bugsy helps in merchandising them.

With hope to be exist as long as they can, they keep in improving their music with something fresh and new, of course in order to give new good and unique nuance in underground music, especially in the hardcore scene.

Fleshgod Apocalypse

Biography :

Fleshgod Apocalypse is an Italian technical death metal band.

History :

Fleshgod Apocalypse was formed in April 2007 and recorded their first demo, Promo '07, at 16th Cellar Studio with producer Stefano “Saul” Morabito, releasing it shortly after. The demo was re-released the following year on a split CD with fellow Italian bands Septycal Gorge, Modus Delicti and Onirik. Fleshgod Apocalypse then signed to Neurotic Records. In early 2008 the band toured Europe, supporting bands like Behemoth, Origin, Dying Fetus, Hate Eternal, Suffocation, Napalm Death and many more.

In May 2008, the band recorded its first full-length album, Oracles. In December of that year the band decided to part ways with Neurotic Records and signed with Willowtip Records, who released Oracles in 2009.

Shortly after the release of Oracles in 2009, the band had a lineup change, with a new member, Tommasso Ricardi taking over vocals and rhythm guitar, which were previously handled by Francesco Paoli, as Paoli took over the drums at this time.

In 2010, Fleshgod Apocalypse released a new EP entitled Mafia. It includes four new tracks and a cover of the track "Blinded by Fear" by At the Gates.

Until 2010, current Fleshgod Apocalypse drummer Francesco Paoli was simultaneously in his former band Hour of Penance doing vocals, as well as drumming in Fleshgod Apocalypse. Also in 2010, another new member, Francesco Ferrini, was added to the band to play keyboards. Ferrini had previously played session keyboards on Oracles and Mafia.

In May 2011, the band signed a worldwide deal with German record label Nuclear Blast Records. The band released their second album, Agony, on August 9, 2011 in North America and August 19, 2011 in Europe. The iTunes version of Agony also includes a cover of the track "Heartwork" by Carcass.

Fleshgod Apocalypse took part in the 2011 Summer Slaughter Tour in North America, alongside co-headliners Whitechapel and The Black Dahlia Murder. The band toured the US with Polish band Decapitated in late 2011. They are currently touring the UK with The Black Dahlia Murder and Skeletonwitch.

Behemoth

Biography :

Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band from Gdansk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground, alongside bands such as Vader, Decapitated, Vesania and Hate.

Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band showed their presence in the blackened death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Middle-Eastern influences. Despite the fact that Behemoth has been labeled as death metal, black metal or thrash-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled.

History :

Early career and first five albums (1991–2000)

Behemoth was formed in 1991 as a trio, with Nergal on guitar and vocals, Baal on the drums, and Desecrator on the guitar. They started with the demos Endless Damnation, and The Return of the Northern Moon. The most significant however, was the third demo—...From the Pagan Vastlands (1993). This tape was released by Polish label Pagan Records and later on by the American Wild Rags. Their next release was Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) in 1995. A year later, they recorded their second album Grom, which was released in 1996. Grom features many different influences and musical styles, using female vocals as well as acoustic guitars and synthesizers. At the same time, Behemoth finally got a chance to play live shows in its native country and finally tour around Europe, gaining stage experience. Two years later, the band recorded a third album, titled Pandemonic Incantations. The cumilation of their increasing presence and metal media set a new standard for them. However, due to a lack of promotion, the album was not well-publicized. After another extensive tour, Behemoth signed a two-album deal with Italy's Avantgarde Music in the fall of 1998. The first result of this new collaboration was the successful album Satanica, on which the black metal sound had evolved into blackened death metal.

The label also secured two European tours for the band in support of Deicide and Satyricon respectively. During that period, Behemoth had to go through some line-up changes and had problems with their ex-Polish label. The new members then were Novy (formerly known from Devilyn, Vader and Dies Irae), who handled the bass duties, and Havok, who became the band's guitarist. After the line-up changes Behemoth signed with the Polish label Mystic. The follow-up release to Satanica was Thelema.6. Massive guitar parts and precise drumming, with influences from different sources, saw them progress further towards blackened death metal.

Thelema.6 was supported by the worldwide press and media, including official releases in Russia and Brazil for the first time. Continuing the support for Thelema.6, Behemoth appeared in several prestigious live events like Wacken Open Air, With Full Force, Inferno Metal Festival, Mystic Festival, and Mind Over Matter Autumn. They started first their headlining tour alongside with Carpathian Forest and Khold, followed by a festival tour in Poland (Thrash em All Fest. with Vader and Krisiun, among others).

Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond), Demigod and The Apostasy (2001–2008)

In 2001, Behemoth focused on writing new material for a sixth studio album. Meantime, they completed their second headlining tour in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Having completed the recording of their new songs, Behemoth entered Hendrix Studio for the second time, with help of their friend and sound engineer Arkadiusz Malczewski, and produced Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond).

In February 2003, the band started their first tour in Norway, playing in cities such as Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger. On March 11, 2003, the American premiere, scheduled by Century Media Records, headlined Behemoth's first appearance in the American continent. The tour started on the 9th of March at the New Jersey's Metalfest and continued with a decent amount of shows across America and Canada, with the company of Deicide, Revenge, Vehemence and Amon Amarth. Shortly after doing their first US tour the band was invited to join the Blackest of the Black Tour by Glenn Danzig. The already legendary festival included acts like Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, Nile, and Opeth. In the fall of 2003, Behemoth flew over to US to complete their third tour with Six Feet Under, Skinless and Black Dahlia Murder. The band then played at the Tuska Festival in Finland with Ministry, Soulfly, among others. At that time, due to some line up difficulties, Nergal parted his ways with Havok and Novy, who decided to focus on activities with their own bands. Eventually, the band resumed touring in the UK and Europe.

In 2004, their seventh studio album, Demigod was released to good critical response. Recorded at the Hendrix Studios, the album debuted at number 15 on the national Polish album charts. Music videos for the songs "Conquer All" and "Slaves Shall Serve" were also shot. In fall 2005 the band headlined the Demigod supremacy Canadian tour 2005 with Necronomicon.

In 2007, the band toured Europe alongside Napalm Death, Moonspell and Dew-Scented. Behemoth released their eighth studio album The Apostasy in July of that year. It was recorded at Radio Gdansk studio in December, 2006. Shortly after the release of The Apostasy, the band was featured as one of Ozzfest 2007's second stage headliners, one of the four non-US bands playing that year. In October/November 2007, they played their first US headlining tour alongside Job for a Cowboy, Gojira, and Beneath the Massacre. In October/November 2007 the band toured Europe alongside Canadian death metal combo Kataklysm and Belgium's Aborted.

In February 2008 Behemoth began a headlining tour along with Suicide Silence. In April/May 2008 the band toured North America as part of "The Invaluable Darkness" tour with Keep of Kalessin and headliner Dimmu Borgir. Behemoth spent the summer playing a number of prominent festivals all over Europe.

In October 2008, Behemoth released their first live album, At the Arena ov Aion – Live Apostasy. Also, an EP called Ezkaton was released featuring a re-recorded version of Chant for Eschaton 2000, one new song, two covers, and three live songs. The EP has been released in North America on November 11.

Evangelion (2009–2010)

In March 2009, the band suggested that the new album, due in the summer, would be produced by British producer Colin Richardson. Behemoth released its 9th full length album entitled "Evangelion" on August 9 via Nuclear Blast in Europe and August 11 via Metal Blade in US. Shemhamforash, a track from this album was released in July 2009 on their MySpace profile.

In July and August 2009, Behemoth participated in the Rockstar Mayhem Festival alongside a variety of metal bands such as Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains, Trivium, Marilyn Manson, Cannibal Corpse and Job for a Cowboy. In September 2009 Behemoth headlined the "New Evangelion" Polish tour alongside Azarath, Black River and Hermh.

In January 2010 Behemoth toured North America during "Evangelia Amerika Tour". In March they toured Europe with shows in Scandinavia, Greece and Turkey. In April Behemoth toured Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In May they started European "Evangelion Summer Campaign 2010" with shows on open-air festivals in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. In June and July they toured France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey, Serbia and Croatia with Decapitated and Ex Deo. In July and August they performed on next open-air festivals, in Czech Republic and Poland.

Nergal's illness, recovery and ninth studio album (2010–present)

In August 2010 Nergal was rushed to a hospital and was diagnosed with leukemia. It was reported that his leukemia was so advanced that chemotherapy couldn't help him, however, this has now been proven false. Doda, his girlfriend at that time, offered her bone marrow for a transplant but tests showed she wasn't a match. A donor has since been found. Behemoth have been forced to cancel all upcoming shows in August including Sonisphere Festival in Finland, concerts in Russia, Belarus and Baltic States in September and October, and their North American tour "Lawless States of Heretika" with Watain, Withered and Black Anvil in November and December.

Behemoth's live DVD "Evangelia Heretika" was released on November 9, 2010. The DVD package includes two DVDs featuring Live in Warsaw 2009, Live in Paris 2008, Documentaries, Bonus Material and an Audio CD.

On January 17th, 2011, Nergal left the hematology division of Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne, four weeks after he underwent a bone marrow transplant procedure. He says that he will now take several months of recovery while living in his flat in one of the Gdansk’s districts, in order to restore his physical condition. He also announces that he is eager to resume playing the guitar again having been six months since he last played. He also says that he has a huge motivation and desire to continue his work with the band, thanking all people who helped him.

According to Nergal, a new album and tour for 2012 are both in the works.

The Black Dahlia Murder

Biography :

The Black Dahlia Murder is an American heavy metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2000. Their name is derived from the 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, often referred to as Black Dahlia. The band comprises vocalist Trevor Strnad, guitarists Brian Eschbach and Ryan Knight, bassist Ryan "Bart" Williams and drummer Shannon Lucas. Out of their five studio albums, the latest four of them charted on the US Billboard 200, with 2009's Deflorate peaking at #43 and their latest album Ritual reaching #31.

History :

Formation, Unhallowed and Miasma (2001–2006)

The Black Dahlia Murder began its inception during late 2000 and gained the final band line-up in January 2001. The group released their demo entitled What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse, and a four-track EP, A Cold-Blooded Epitaph, the latter of which the group released on Lovelost Records. After appearing in concerts such as the Milwaukee Metal Fest, The Black Dahlia Murder signed to Metal Blade Records in 2003.

Current bassist Ryan "Bart" Williams left his former band, Detroit's Today I Wait, to tour with the Black Dahlia Murder. After touring with the band on their co-headlining gig with Throwdown and their European dates with Liar, he joined the group full-time, replacing former bassist David Lock. Frontman Trevor Strnad said that Lock was fired for incompetency. Williams was one of two engineers (the other being Walls of Jericho's Mike Hasty) on the band's first full-length album, Unhallowed.

The band's second album Miasma was released on July 12, 2005 and peaked at #118 on the Billboard 200. After touring for Miasma, drummer Zach Gibson left the band along with Pierre Langlois. While Gibson went on to join Abigail Williams, Langlois left the band for a more secure lifestyle, and the band finished their search for a replacement drummer when they found former All That Remains drummer, Shannon Lucas. The group played at Ozzfest 2005.

Nocturnal and Deflorate (2006–2010)

Their third album, entitled Nocturnal, was released on September 18, 2007. The album debuted at #72 on the Billboard 200. The Black Dahlia Murder announced via their MySpace profile that they were going on a U.S. tour with Cannibal Corpse to promote their new album Nocturnal and celebrate the 25 years that Metal Blade Records had been in business. They were joined by label-mates The Red Chord, Aeon, The Absence, and Goatwhore.

In January/February 2008, the band embarked on a U.S. headlining tour with 3 Inches of Blood, Hate Eternal, and Decrepit Birth, followed by another alongside Brain Drill and Animosity. They were on Hot Topic's "Summer Slaughter Tour" with Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, Vader, Whitechapel, and Despised Icon.

Their long-time guitarist, John K has left the band and was replaced by Ryan Knight during the beginning of 2009. In May 2009, The Black Dahlia Murder released their first DVD, "Majesty". The DVD contains a documentary and live footage from the Summer Slaughter tour and their tour supporting Children of Bodom in late 2008. The DVD also contains all of their music videos and behind the scenes footage.

The Black Dahlia Murder released Deflorate on September 15, 2009 via Metal Blade Records. The album sold 12,000 copies in the United States in the first week of the release, debuted at position #43 Billboard's Top 200 charts, #5 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart, #4 on Billboard's Top Hard Music Albums chart, and #50 on HITS Top 50 Albums chart. They toured with Children of Bodom and Skeletonwitch in support of the album. After their 2010 headlining tour with Goatwhore and Arkaik, the band began writing and recording their next full-length album.

Ritual (2011–present)

In February 2011, The Black Dahlia Murder completed the songwriting process for the their fifth studio album, entitled Ritual. It was released on June 21, 2011 in North America. The band supported Amon Amarth on their May 2011 European tour, as well as headlined the 2011 Summer Slaughter tour, both in support of Ritual. Before the record's release, the track "Moonlight Equilibrium" was posted to the Metal Blade Records website on April 29, 2011 to critical and fan acclaim. A music video for "Moonlight Equilibrium" was released on February 20, 2012.

Tours :

The Black Dahlia Murder headlined the 2008 Summer Slaughter Tour with Kataklysm, Vader, Cryptopsy, The Faceless, Despised Icon, Aborted, Born of Osiris, Psycroptic, and Whitechapel. In late 2008, they joined a US tour with Finland's Children of Bodom and Raleigh, NC's Between the Buried and Me. They were initially announced as "...with special guests" at the start of the tour, though it has since been confirmed by Revolver Magazine that they are on tour. They appeared on the Hot Topic Stage in the 2009 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. In late 2009, they embarked on a US tour with Finland's Children of Bodom and Skeletonwitch. The band headlined the Bonecrusher Fest tour of Europe in Spring 2010 alongside 3 Inches of Blood, Necrophobic, Obscura, The Faceless, Carnifex and Ingested. In August 2010 they played at the Hevy Music Festival near Folkestone, UK.

Primordial

Biography :

A new biography….a new site. With this new biography I have tried to make it a little more involved then the old ones, more detail, more insight and some might say who know me, more self involved waffle and useless information. However paying heed to detractors never was one of my strong points, so let us start at the start…right at the start...

1987 - Yep, 1987. At this time Metal was pretty damn popular in Ireland and in the town of Skerries (some 20 miles outside Dublin) several young teenagers (just) were about to take up arms in the name of Metal. Paul (bass) and his brother, let's call him D (for drums) started learning to play, caught in the thrash metal buzz. Obviously influenced by Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth. In the end of the year of '87 a young man by the name of Ciaran arrived, armed with six strings and ready to burn…ahem, well perhaps not quite but the three intrepid young man set out on a quest and with all bands this started by playing covers... Suicidal Tendencies, Metallica, Dead Kennedys, Slayer, S.O.D. etc. Somewhere the seeds had been sown.

1988 - With various singers coming and going, Paul attempted to sing…or rather belch for most of this year and sometime in '88 the band as a three piece recorded a four track demo with a cover of Death "Born Dead" and Sepultura "Screams Behind The Shadows" and one or two original tracks. One which incidentally contained a variation of the riff that became the first piece of the song "Journey's End" from the same album! Moving more into the realms of extreme thrash and early death metal as their technical level improved all the time, bands like Sepultura and Death were fast becoming their new mentors.

1989 - Not really sure what to report from the year 1989, the band with a mixture of singers were now playing some local gigs in their town, apparently one on top of a bank? What the band were called at this stage and even before is shrouded in mystery and a clandestine occult haze. Although someone did mention the Sticky Clits… the mystery runs deeper.

1990 - Still the hardcore of the two brothers and Ciaran. Seems as if things were getting a little more serious now as the logos were becoming increasingly difficult to read and the pentagrams and inverted crosses more profound. Of course by this stage and to some degree the previous year bands like Morbid Angel, Obituary, Autopsy and Pestilence were having a massive influence on our three intrepid Metal Warriors.

1991 - This year can be seen as a big change for the band, not least because this is the year I joined the band (ahem), but now a little older and with more playing ability the band sought to find a singer by placing one fateful add in Dublin's main Metal shop, an act that displayed a in itself a willingness to take this further than what it had been. Living indeed in what was a relatively isolated part of the county of Dublin (Skerries), or rather not at the hub of the city's underground the guys were not privy to the sounds of Samael, Master's Hammer, Impaled Nazarene, Rotting Christ, Necromantia or Mayhem for example… which is more where I came in, being the only person who answered the add and indeed being awful at the first rehersal, but what I did bring was a knowledge of the underground scene, having been writing around the world at this stage for some years and having done my first fanzine. It seemed like a good marriage, my talentless enthusiasm and underground savvy and their burgeoning playing ability. That October we played our first gig in Skerries community hall with a Metallica cover-band and we played covers by Sodom, Sepultura, Death and Massacre among others… And the first tentative steps at aping our heroes was beginning… we started to try and write songs.

1992 - This was the year that we started to play some gigs in Dublin, the little underground Death/Black enclave in Ireland was burgeoning. Back then we really knew fuck all about fuck all but it was to be honest exciting. There was also a compilation tape released that Summer with a rehersal version of "The Darkest Flame" on there. For Primordial completists if such people exist I guess this is truly the rarest thing there is. It was the first compilation of it's kind in Ireland and in retrospect one of the most important turning points. Our first two original tracks "Nefarious Affliction" (yep I know!) and "Prince of The Sky" contained many Satanic (albeit naïve) and Occult references and this began to see us at odds with the rest of the Irish scene. We saw ourselves as having more in common with a band like Rotting Christ or Varathron then many of the eco-friendly hardcore "death" metallers in the Irish scene. Black Metal polarisation lay around the corner… the impetuosity of youth my friends! That year we also wrote "To Enter Pagan" which is now a staple in the live set still, and most of "To The Ends of The Earth", things were indeed changing and that December we changed the name of the band to...Primordial.

1993 - I must be honest, at this stage we were writing songs but doing a demo did not seem a tangible reality, what with school work, money, travel and equipment taken into account. Over the previous year we had been finding our sound and found ourselves looking back to bands like Bathory, Celtic Frost, Sabbat and Candlemass for inspiration, and feeling far more part of the burgeoning Black Metal scene over the previous year and with the death metal scene becoming for the most part staid and boring…it was obvious that if we could do a demo it would most defintely be rooted firmly within the second wave Black Metal movement. And indeed in June of 1993 what had seemed previously impossible was achieved. We recorded our first and only demo "Dark Romanticism", recorded for about £50 in the lads home town of Skerries in a converted front room studio on eight tracks. Considering the equipment and the time and our experience we were quite shocked at how well it came out. "Dark Romanticism" went on to sell over 1 100 copies and is still heralded by many as a classic second wave Black Metal demo. At the time we left the politics of labels and categories to others but it was clearly obvious in retrospect it was Black Metal. We played our first gig painted up and ready for War in August of that year, times were indeed changing and I think underneath the greasepaint and leather we knew these were special songs and being signed and actually recording a CD was perhaps going to happen?! And slowly but surely the offers started to come in…1993…some year that was my friends!

1994 - Peaceville weren't interested… however Jonny from Deaf the Peaceville imprint was and with names like Eucharist, At The Gates and Dissection being thrown around we were more than impressed. The Deaf Metal sampler came out and we were being pencilled in as one of the first bands to be on the Deaf roster. Then nothing? Candlelight called… Necromantic Gallery, Unisound, Hellspawn, more and more really underground labels were contacting us. At this point in time Candlelight seemed to be at the centre of our dealings. We helped organise some shows for then Candlelight bands Decomposed and Korpse hoping Candlelight would come over and sort it all out, they never appeared and neither did the contract. A young Dani Filth had been pestering their fledgling label Cacophonous to sign us, yet they wanted to hear more songs. The answer came in the form of the live tape we recorded that night we played with Decomposed, Korpse and The Fifth Dominion (now Arcane Sun), containing five new tracks that was the tape that got us the deal with Cacophonous Records. And the tape that has been refered to by some people as "An Infernal Summers Night", although it was never really heavily traded... some people did indeed have it, there was no cover though! In November without any idea of the machinations of recording an album we went into where we recorded our demo, spent a lot of money hiring equipment and desks and this and that, after 12 days we were left with a sub standard album (demo!)… not awful but not fit for release. The saga had just begun.

1995 - We had to wait until May to remix the album. Not knowing our arse from our elbow we had recorded the album on one inch reel tape (which for anyone not familiar with recording, probably the least professional and least used size!) so Nihil and myself from Cacophonous had to haul a one inch reel machine around London and then all the way to Yorkshire… to Dewsbury and Academy to transfer reels and remix "Imrama". We found channels with nothing on them that should have been drums, things recorded in mono… you get the picture. That "Imrama" is at all listenable is down to Mags at Academy. That was the beginning of a long friendship between the band and him. "Imrama" was remixed in three days and finally released in September of 1995, just shy of one year after it was recorded. That year also saw us play our first gig outside of Ireland at a Devils church festival in London together with Occult, Gomorrah and Bal-Sagoth among others. A very important step for the Irish scene in general, not just the band. Following the release of the CD, without one single interview it sold by all accounts quite well in the not as yet saturated market. Talk of tours with everyone from Gehenna and Bal-Sagoth to Samael and Cradle of Filth went around but nothing transpired. Relationships between us all were very strained and it was four young men very at odds with each other who went over to play with Cradle of Filth and Gorgoroth in late 1995 at the Metal Hammer fourplay night in London at the Astoria 1. 1995 closed out with us just having done our biggest ever gig, the album being received well and the future looking well… well it should have been, instead it closed with tempers fraying and blood boiling…

1996 - Quite easily the worst year for the band, it stands out in my memory as being shockingly bad. Absolutely nothing happened of any note other than one gig in Athy, Co. Kildare in a massive GAA hall with The Fifth Dominion and Thy Sinister Bloom that was stopped halfway through our set. Having a gig stopped by the police, cool eh? It in fact sucked… as did 1996.

1997 - If one productive thing came from 1997 it was the long overdue exit of the malignant cancer within the band, i.e. the drummer. For various legal reasons and much wrangling Cacophonous released into the arms of those sapphic splendours... Misanthropy Records. An album seemed a long way off when we inked some sort of deal so we recorded in about six hours a version of "To Enter Pagan" from our demo for a split 10" with Katatonia from Sweden. The recording proved somewhat of an abortion and also marked the last appearance of the drummer. Now we were drummerless, however a guy who I had known since 1989 who I had linked up with Geasa sprung to mind, it seemed at the time we didn't really have a choice. With pressure from Misanthropy looming and some shows with the reformed Mayhem in the UK looming that Winter, in September Simon O'Laoghaire joined the band on the drums. And these very Mayhem gigs marked the appearance guesting on the bass of our now new second guitar player Fergal from Arcane Sun. The gig turned out ok, what surrounded them was indeed a nightmare what with our new drummer doing his best Shane McGowan impression and all manner of other things. 1997 finished with the knowledge that in February of the following year we were going to record our second album in Academy studios in Yorkshire… we also knew we weren't prepared! An understatement!

1998 - Looking back "Journeys End" was and is a very dark album, obscure and obtuse in many ways and somewhat hesitant in affirming any uplifting qualities. In retrospect I think the previous two years of bitterness and frustration helped mould the sound. Yet once it was recorded it was like a weight from around our necks, with relationships improving and a unified focus becoming apparent we could move on ahead. My biggest regret at this time is the changing of the cover from the one on the promo of the CD or on the now vinyl to the brown non-descript album cover… basically we were blackmailed, Tiziana hated it and wanted it changed, yet it was advertised in many places with the other cover, bullshit of course. Needless to say the album was released to critical acclaim but due to that change and the impaired German distribution it remained that, a critics choice. However what had one time seemed impossible, i.e recording a new album had been achieved, we could move onward and upward. It was becoming clear that things were not as they had been at Misanthropy Records and before the years end it became clear that we were going to have to move on and find a new label. Misanthropy was ceasing operations, Tiziana tired of the music industry in all it's forms basically wanted out and rather than flog a dead horse she decided to end it all, a decision I still totally respect. It was at this time that our ill fated tour with Menhir from Germany and Thyrfing from Sweden was falling apart… it in fact never did happen, but Mr. Guido from Hammerheart was first to offer the band a contract upon discovering Misanthropy was to end, we decided as we knew him from the old Bifrost underground days and looking at Hammerheart as a fast growing company to go with them… so I booked the studio for March 1999, we were going to record a new long mini-CD... force ourselves to work with deadlines and prove to some people, most of all ourselves that we were not going to disappear without trace again...

1999 - Definitely a new beginning, the newer songs had a greater sense of urgency and there was a new confidence and energy in the band, this can be heard on the "The Burning Season" MCD released around September on our new label Hammerheart! And in May of that year we went over to play with Hades Almighty and Mayhem in the "Annihilation of the Lowlands" mini tour of Belgium and Holland, our first gigs in the continent and a real learning experience and two very good gigs from our point of view, the energy and urgency was becoming barely controllable, we knew we had to deliver a real fist in the face with the next album. There was talk of us being on that Decembers No Mercy Festival, but with only a MCD to promote it seemed we were destined to miss out on yet another opportunity. However rather than accept that we would be doing nothing a seed had been planted by a friend for us in Portugal and after much wrangling seven straight days in Portugal and Spain were organised in December together with Sacred Sin and Masque of Innocence, a truly memorable experience and one I don't think any of us will ever forget ever… and for once we were rounding out the year with new songs, the studio booked for the following year (February) and a great positive experience to take us into the millenium…
The Dawn of Satan's Millenium huh?
Hasta Satana 99

2000 - Slightly more prepared then for "A Journey's End" we went into the studio in February to record "Spirit The Earth Aflame" in Dublin with Mags, just as we had done "The Burning Season". This time with better preparation, better equipment and a better attitude we came out with the songs we are the most satisfied. It had been a long search! The album came out and right now is the fastest selling album ever on Hammerheart Records... the band is growing, the label is growing. An eight day tour with our Metal brethren Thyrfing from Sweden and Shadowbreed from Holland passed by, several festivals, noticeably With Full Force, Windorock and the Wave Gothik Treffen. We signed a new publishing deal with Edition Wolffackel/Warner and Sure Shot Worx, a new second guitar player as well I may add… enter Lucifergal. Things were and are looking up, and we are stronger and more focused than ever on the task in hand. The press has been unanimous in it's praise of Spirit and for once things are going in the right direction. Upon writing this 2000 is more that half way to it's end, the album is released domestically in the States in August and there are tours to confirm… seems like the work may just be about to pay off?

2001 - The band don’t play many shows in 2001 and Fergal’s tenure within the band is short lived. Replaced by M. O Floinn. The band start work on writing their 4th album. Problems begin to emerge with Hammerheart Records. The bands first two albums “Imrama” and “Journeys End” are re-released by HHR.

2002 - The band begin recording as a 4 piece in Yorkshire together with Mags. Through much stress, financial and legal problems “Storm Before Calm” is recorded. The band play a few Irish shows, a few festivals and a mini tour with Mercenary and Callenish Circle. Hammerheart are in financial trouble and drop the ball with “Storm”, the press is again excellent but the promotion and artwork somewhat lacking.

2003 - The band head out on a European tour together with Rotting Christ and Enthroned. The promotion for the tour is poor to non existent but the band perform well. The band realise they have to try and find another label. They tour once again with Ancient Rites, Thyrfing and Septic Flesh among others and visit both Romania and Bulgaria with Negura Bunget and play Greece for the first time. The band goes into hibernation ovdr the Winter spending most of the time involved in legal matters.

2004 - The band play a couple of shows here and there and finally agree a deal with Metal Blade records from Germany. HHR essentially dissolves with the re-release of “Dark Romanticism” as a parting gift. The band record their fifth album “The Gathering Wilderness” in Dublin together with Billy Anderson. The band attempt to head in a rawer more live sound. The press receive the album again incredibly and sales improve in a dwindling marketplace. It also marks M O Floinns first creative contribution to the band, breaking with tradition.

2005 - The Majority of 2005 is spent doing mini tours and playing festivals. The band play in some new territories like Finland and most of the Summer seems to be spent sitting around in Fields all over Europe waiting to play or staggering around causing trouble after playing…Again however the big tour eludes the band after not only the Xmass festival collapses then a festival tour with Morbid Angel disappears….

2006 - The band play their first show in America, a festival entitled “The Heathen Crusade”. They decide to bring the idea to Europe and do a small headlining tour of Europe together with Moonsorrow and Mourning Beloveth. They play a handful more festivals around Europe and their biggest show in Ireland supporting Opeth also. The slow and painful process of songwriting also begins.

2007 - While writing songs the band play a handful of shows mainly in Germany before entering Foel Studios in North Wales during the monsoon summer. Over 2 weeks the bands 6th album and second for Metal Blade is recorded. “To the Nameless Dead” is released in Europe on November 16th and in America on November 27th.
