Biography :
Fist Of Therapy ( F.O.T ) was established in the middle of 1997. Their first line-up was M’beng (throat) and Fery (guitar). At that time, F.O.T started with something minimalistic, until in the end of 1997, they were advancing their band with the new members; Iman (drum) and Ilham (bass) which once were only filled with additional / temporary players. F.O.T was highly influenced by some "Hero Hardcore Bands" like STRIFE and SNAPCASE by whom they described their music as Modern Hardcore. Unfortunately in the middle of 1999 and at the end of 2000, two of the band members (Iman and Ilham) couldn't follow the band's struggle due to their overwhelming activities outside the band and so they proposed their resignation. F.O.T still could maintain their existence with the help of some good musician buddies who were willing to professionally fill the lacuna, yet then some of them finally joined the band as members.
From all additional / temporary players joined, F.O.T, got some good musicians like Al (PURGATORY), Reza (QISHASH, Ad.REACTION), Alex (ex:REVITOL), Reza Patkay (END OF AGE, PAPER GANGSTER), Hell-me (PAIN KILLER), Aryomc (FLAMING ICARUS, DAGGER STAB) and Andri (THEATHAN). F.O.T got through some inspirational experiences in playing music and so they got more mature view in creating the music and the lyrics as well. The lyrics themselves are more in to love which is described with dark and hazing atmosphere, similar as most of other metal core bands appear like.
Their recent line-up they're having; Mbeng in Throat, Ferry in Guitar, Die in Guitar [ex. Purgatory's guitarist], Antou in Bass [Finish Irene] and Boim in drums has strengthen their music quality process that is still running until now.
F.O.T has joined some of compilation albums such as “REVOLUTION OF SOUNDS” released by Sony BMG (2005) and “Asian-European Indie Today” compilation By Sampah Project Records (2007). As they consider that the latest compilation is one of their highest achievements, coz their single titled “Falling In Lost” was released in all countries included in this compilation; 4 countries in Eastern Europe and 4 others in Asia region.
Their music influence comes from some good hardcore / metal core bands such as RED ROSES FOR A BLUE LADY, EVERYTIME I DIE, NORMA JEAN, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, EIGHTEEN VISIONS, GLASSJAW, SNAPCASE, STRIFE, CONVERGE, PANTERA and HIM.
After being delayed for more than 5 years, they finally released their newest album titled "Romantic Love In Melancholy". It includes 10 songs and "Sleep Forever" as their single. They are working together with Ripple Magazine in distributing the album and some of media like Dapurletter.com also helps in promoting, and last but not least Bugsy helps in merchandising them.
With hope to be exist as long as they can, they keep in improving their music with something fresh and new, of course in order to give new good and unique nuance in underground music, especially in the hardcore scene.
